Seminary Extension

Seminary Extension Classes, Chinandega, Nicaragua

Early last year, Crosspoint International finalized a partnership with the Nicaraguan Baptist Theological Seminary to open an extension site in Chinandega. The goal is to provide a two-year program for church leaders and a three year training curriculum for pastors.  This partnership will make it possible for many throughout the northwestern region of Nicaragua to attend weekly classes and work toward a seminary degree.

One of the biggest challenges the church faces around the world, especially in developing countries, is untrained pastors. By no fault of their own many are unable to obtain or even access theological education. In keeping with our philosophy of ministry to help local churches become all that God has called them to be, one of our main priorities is equipping local pastors and giving them the resources they need to lead their congregations in reaching their communities for Christ.

Classes began using the facilities at First Baptist Church in Chinandega as well as the classroom space at the Crosspoint International headquarters. Future plans call for the opening of an extension facility that will include classrooms, a computer lab and a theological library. The cost of a theological education in Nicaragua? For a gift of $150 you can buy a complete set of curriculum manuals for one pastor that will cover his entire three year plan of study! For a monthly donation of just $25 you can pay for one pastor’s complete tuition costs! Hundreds of pastors called to the ministry are hungry to study and learn. Will you pray about allowing God to use you to provide an education for a pastor in Nicaragua? It is truly an investment that will continue to reap dividends until Christ returns!
