Crosspoint International and the Nicaraguan Baptist Convention (Convencion Bautista Nacional – CBN) entered an official partnership last December. The Rev. Felix Ruiz, President of CBN and Steven Bradley, President of Crosspoint International signed the documents formally aligning the two entities to work toward common goals in reaching the country of Nicaragua for Christ. The partnership, which will last for an initial period of two years, will allow both Crosspoint International and CBN to draw from the other’s resources and experience which will open up new realms of possibilities to advance the work of the kingdom in this Central American country.
One of the first fruits of this relationship was the opening of an extension center of the Nicaraguan Baptist Seminary in Chinandega in May of 2012. This center, facilitated by Crosspoint International and its Director of Central American Missions, Omar Alvarado, allows pastors from the region to attend evening and weekend classes to obtain much needed ministerial training and at the same time work toward a seminary degree. Future plans for the facility include classrooms, a computer lab and a theological library.
Discussions with the Executive committee of CBN have also resulted in future plans for Crosspoint International to train, equip and facilitate the sending (by a local congregation) of national missionaries to regions of the country in need of assistance. These missionaries would duplicate the work of Crosspoint in Chinandega by training pastors, strengthening existing congregations and helping them to plant new churches.
We are confident that this partnership will allow each organization to grow and expand its reach to see souls saved for the glory of God!
