Team Kenya - June 2009!
June 1, 2009

Crosspoint International Ministries welcomes Tri-Cities Baptist Church from Johnson City, TN to Kenya.  We are overwhelmed to be working with a church so committed to global evangelism and so dedicated to doing their part to fulfill the Great Commission.  This blog will serve as a way for team members to stay connected with all those back home who love them and are praying for them.  Please feel free to post comments, prayers and words of encouragement.  We, in turn, will do our best to post updates on our work and pictures of all God is doing in and through this team.  May He receive ALL the glory!

What an amazing time we have had here in Africa! The people of Ngiini are so desperate for help, and we are humbled to have been allowed to be a small part of bringing much needed medical care to this village. Overall, the clinic was a huge success. We ministered to hundreds of people and witnessed more than 80 people give their lives to Christ! To God be the glory! This team was incredible...from the medical professionals, down to the teenagers, everyone jumped in and did whatever was needed to ensure that the clinic could operate as efficiently as possible. We are grateful to each team member and their families, for being a part of such a needed ministry. Thanks for all your thoughts, comments and prayers!

Blessings to all,

Kimberly

Hey guys!

Sorry we've been so long without a post! The internet at the hotel has been down. Wow, how we have been blessed. We knew before we came that their was a need for medical care in this little village but I'm not sure we new how big the need was. Our clinic has been overwhelmed with hundreds of people every day. Some walking for hours and standing in line all day just to see a doctor. Yesterday we saw a lady who craweled to the clinic because she couldn't walk. If we worked 12 hours a day for the next month we couldn't see them all! God has given this team such miraculous strength and energy to keep going day after day. Each person that goes through the clinic is counseled one on one and dozens have accepted Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. Every team member is healthy and well and everyone has done so much for God, I couldn't have asked for a better team. They will be posting comments today hopefully. Thanks for your prayers and encoouragement! May God receive all the glory for what has been accomplished!

Steve

Dear friends,

I realized that we are far away and separated by a great ocean, but greater is the love of God that is in us and that brings us together as one. My family and I and many of your brothers and sisters here are praying for all of you from this little corner of the world. Nicaragua. Que Dios los bendiga

Hello brothers and sisters! I've been praying for you and your mission. I know God planted the seed long before you arrived. Many lives will be changed as well as your own. Steve and Kim's SS class misses them and can't wait to hear what God did for the people of Kenya. What an honor it is to be messengers of His grace and mercy!

Hey guys! We are ready to start day two of our medical clinic. Wow, what a blessing day one was! We had a huge turnout for the dedication ceremony with hundreds and hundreds of school children, church leaders and community people - all excited about the opening of a medical facility in their village. Dan Wininger gave our dedication pray and the school children sang songs of praise to God both in English and their native Kamba language. The team has done fantastic. We saw almost 100 patients yesterday. They were anywhere from 2 months old to 90 years old! God is good! Sunday we were able to visit 7 different churches and distribute almost 2 tons of corn to families that had not seen a harvest in 4 years, what a blessing. Our visits were a suprise and completely unannounced. One church had just been teaching that God will provide and praying for him to provide for their needs when they heard the sound of our trucks! Thank you so much for your prayers, God has already done so many wonderful things that I know the rest of the week is going to be awesome. Look today for more comments from team members and hopefully some pictures of the work. Blessings, Steve

Greetings from Kenya! Kimberly and I are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the team tonight! We just returned last night from Ngiini to see the progress on the medical clinic. God is good! Almost a dozen men were working to put the finishing touches on the building when we arrived! It should be ready (for the most part) to begin ministering to the community next week. There will still be some finish work to be done but that can wait until the team leaves. Please continue to pray that God will send the funds needed to ship the container of medical equipment and furniture that we have waiting in Lynchburg, Virginia. This would complete everything for this phase of our project. Thank you so much for your continued prayers and encouragment. We will post more updates and comments from the team as we hit the field! To God be the glory! Steve
